A warranty that follows the product.
With the product registration, the owner of a Liftup product will be offered access to a Manufacturer’s General Warranty cover that will guarantee supply of spare parts through an authorized distributor for a period of two years from the date of purchase.
Regular lift maintenance
Keep your lift running smoothly and safely with a few simple, regular care routines. These quick checks help extend the life of the lift and ensure reliable day-to-day use.
-
Routine cleaning
Wipe surfaces with a soft cloth and mild soapy water. Avoid high-pressure cleaning, direct hosing, or harsh chemicals. Keep salt, sand, and dirt away to reduce wear and corrosion — especially outdoors. -
Wood care
For oiled wood, re-oil approximately every 3 months. For varnished wood, apply new varnish when you see signs of wear. Regular care keeps surfaces protected and looking good. -
Keep the lift area clear
For outdoor lifts, remove leaves, branches, dirt, and other debris around and underneath the lift. Clear snow and ice before use. A clean area helps safety sensors work properly and prevents faults. -
Battery replacement
Call stations and remotes typically use CR2032 button-cell batteries. Replace these approximately every 2 years for reliable operation. -
Listen & inspect
If you notice unusual noises or irregular movement, stop using the lift and contact a service technician. Never remove covers or attempt mechanical adjustments yourself.
Outdoor & weather care
If the lift is installed outdoors or in demanding environments, you should follow these additional tips to protect it from the weather:
-
Snow & ice
Always clear snow, ice, and frost from the steps and from underneath the platform before using the lift. Built-up snow or ice can block the mechanism or interfere with the infrared safety sensors. In winter, gently brush off snow and consider using a cover when the lift is not in use. Never pour salt or de-icing chemicals directly on the lift — this can cause corrosion. -
Rain & debris
After heavy rain or wind, inspect the lift and remove leaves, twigs or excess water. It is recommended to park the lift at the lowest level when not in use outdoors. This allows the platform to cover the opening and prevents objects from falling into the mechanism. If possible, add a canopy or shelter above the lift or the stairs. -
Coastal/chlorine environments
Salt air (coastal areas) or chlorine (pools) can be harsh on the lift. Rinse the lift with fresh water regularly to remove salt residue, and apply protective wax/oil to metal and wood as instructed. Contact Liftup for a special maintenance plan if the lift is placed in an environment with high salt concentration or corrosion risk — more frequent inspections or anti-corrosion treatments may be necessary. (Lifts are typically designed for corrosion class C1–C3, but extra care is recommended in harsher environments.) -
Temperatur
Lifts are generally designed to operate in temperatures from approx. –25 °C to +40 °C. In extreme cold, the lift will still function, but it moves more slowly below freezing and has reduced lifting capacity. This is normal and protects the mechanics. In very high or low temperatures, be patient and avoid unnecessary operation. Always keep the lift connected to power so the battery remains charged in cold weather.
Inspection, checks and service inspections
In addition to basic maintenance, lifts require periodic professional servicing to remain safe and compliant with regulations. Liftup recommends the following minimum service intervals.
It is very important to follow these intervals — note that stricter requirements may apply in some countries, so check with your lift installer. Lack of maintenance may void the warranty and shorten the product’s lifespan, so remember to set reminders.
Always use a certified Liftup technician or trained personnel for servicing — they know lifts best and ensure that all functions (such as safety sensors and battery backup) are checked.
(Fun fact: Some lifts have an online service log that technicians can access via the QR code on the lift.)

Raise to Fold
New longer access ramps available for FlexStep with a Raise To Fold function
With the help of a new Raise To Fold (RTF) transformation option, our FlexStep products have the option for new longer ramps which makes it easier to get up on the lifting platform, as the slope is less steep.
-
Lower slope on the ramp makes it easier to get up on the lifting platform.
-
Higher roll-off guard
-
The "Raise to Fold" transformation allows a longer ramp to remain hidden under the step.
Automatic Onboard Barrier
The automatic onboard barrier is mounted on the platform to protect against falling from the platform while it's moving. The barrier activates automatically when FlexStep is being operated, and it folds into a discreet standby position when FlexStep is not being used.
-
Liftup recommends the use of the automatic onboard barrier for all 4-, 5- and 6-step models
-
Combined with the active ramp, the automatic onboard barrier increases the feeling of a safer lift!
-
Pre-mounted + retrofit kit
-
The barrier can be ordered mounted on the FlexStep via LPC, or you can order a kit for retrofitting.
Call Stations
A coherent and stylish design is essential for Liftup, distributors and customers - and our call stations must of course live up to the same design standard:
- A soft and Nordic design language.
- Simple in black and with a white border around the front. Thus, it matches all our lifting platforms.
- Easy to install and service.
- Work both wireless and wired.
- Approved and provide tactile feedback for the visually handicapped.
- For indoor and outdoor use.
Safety door/vertical barrier at top level
When the lifting height is above 500 mm safety options at top landing is required: A vertical safety barrier or a door.
-
The barrier prevents persons from falling down when the staircase is away and provides safety at top level.
-
The vertical safety barrier will always be closed, when the staircase is away and provides safety at top level. The ramp is raised, when the lift is not at the lower level.
-
The doors are made of the same material as the rest of the lift and painted in the same colour.
-
It's fitted with either a clear or smoke polycarbonate plate and is hinged on the right or left hand side of the lifting platform.
Online service log
(applies to certain countries only)
Using a smartphone, tablet etc. the QR code on the lift can be scanned. Here you will find the logbook for service inspections on exactly your lift
